Clinical Study
Efficacy
Please review the manuscript summarizing results of a recently completed double blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study in 15 centers in the US and Canada:
Efficacy and Safety of Chitosan HEP-40™ in the Management of Hypercholesterolemia,
published by the Alternative Medicine Review, 2007.

HEP-40 is 70% more effective than plant sterol supplements in reducing cholesterol absorption and supporting healthy cholesterol levels. Its effectiveness has been proven
in a population of otherwise healthy consumers that have elevated cholesterol levels but don’t yet require statin therapy.

One of the biggest HEP-40 advantages for consumers is its once-a-day dosing. The clinical results illustrated below were achieved after only four weeks by taking three 800mg capsules daily, all before the evening meal. Plant sterols are generally taken at least twice a day, leading to lower compliance and poorer results.
